The original painting is available.
Fruit is very common as subject matter, I think that’s because it’s colorful and has great texture. I put these apples and the pear on my kitchen table when I returned from the grocery store. I enjoy painting everyday subject matter because I can find painting ideas around the house.

The background in the original setup was a little boring so I improvised the color and textures. I used thick brushstrokes in certain areas of the painting, especially on the pear. I made sure to load the brush with more than one color, I used a touch of orange to contrast with the yellow green skin of the pear. Some parts of the painting also contain very thin washes of acrylic that almost resemble watercolor.
