As the title indicates, this painting is of the corner of North Division and Elm in downtown Buffalo. I had to do a little research on Google to figure out which corner this is because I took the reference photos a few months ago. I knew it was Elm Street but I wasn't sure which intersection it was. The architecture made it easy to figure out– click to view this location on Google street view.
The M&T Building is the large white building on the left. The Liberty building is in the center and you can identify it by the two sculptures on top. The Rand building is on the right with the large red and white antenna, it's the home of a number of local radio stations. According to Wikipedia, it has been suggested that the Rand building was was the inspiration for the Empire State building, I don't know if this is true but it does have a similar features.
